Dr. Jieh Hsiang is a distinguished Professor in Computer Science at the National Taiwan University (NTU). He is the founder and director of the Research Center for Digital Humanities at NTU, and has been heading the university’s digital archives program since 1996. Before returning to Taiwan in 1993, he was a full professor at the Stony Brook University. He was also the University Librarian of NTU between 2002 and 2008, and the Dean of the College of Science and Technology of the National Chi-Nan University from 1998 to 2001.

Dr. Akihiro SHIBAYAMA was a researcher at the Disaster Control Research Center of Tohoku University between 2006-2007, a research associate of the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology between 2007-2008, and an assistant professor of the Disaster Control Research Center, Tohoku University between 2009-2012. Currently, he is an associate professor of the International Research Institute of Disaster Science, Tohoku University. His digital archive project on the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake Disaster is internationally known among researchers in digital libraries and data science.
